Heat Pumps & Renewable Heating

Heat pumps are one of the most efficient ways to heat a home, drawing heat from the air outside and using it to warm your radiators, underfloor heating, and hot water. For every unit of electricity they use, a well-installed heat pump can produce three to four units of heat — a significant efficiency gain over a traditional boiler.

Is a Heat Pump Right for Your Property?

New builds

designed from the outset for lower flow temperatures, they're often the natural fit.

Underfloor heating

works efficiently at the lower temperatures heat pumps produce

Well-insulated homes

reduced heat loss means the system doesn't have to work as hard.

Retrofitting

Adding to an existing property is possible, but needs careful consideration.

✅ Older radiator systems may need upsizing to work efficiently at lower flow temperatures.
✅ Insulation levels matter — poor insulation can undermine performance and running costs.
✅ Not every property is suitable. A proper heat loss survey is the only reliable way to know — we won't recommend a heat pump if it isn't the right fit for your home.

Grants & VAT relief

The government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme currently offers up to £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (higher for some off-grid oil/LPG properties), and heat pump installations qualify for 0% VAT until March 2027.*
